Anyway, this thought popped into my head as I saw this guy walking down 5th avenue last week. From a distance I thought this guy was walking with a lumpy sweatshirt or scarf on his shoulders. But it was too warm for either of those things, so I took a double take. What do you think it is from behind?

And the big reveal – it’s a cat! Yes, that’s right. It was moving and meowing and all.  A live cat just hanging out while this guy was walking briskly down 5th ave. So, PETA, is this a violation? I mean, the kitty was definitely still alive. Btw, what is wrong with people??

They told me they were presidential condoms….can anyone explain this?

New York, NY - I’m a sucker for dogs – really, I am. In fact, from about 50 feet away, I was admiring the cute little black dog that was being walked with the ‘baby’. As I got closer, I was like, dang, I know this is mean, but that baby is kind of uncute. And then I saw it: the baby was another dog! Are you kidding me? There are more dogs than people in NY (I’m making that stat up, but there are a lot of dogs). In fact, there is a thriving dog industry in New York with dog parks, dog cafes, dog sitters, dog hotels, dog, dog, dog, and it’s all just great, but this was a doggy first.

I needed to know the reason why this pooch was being pushed, so I asked the nice lady if the dog was injured or something and she said, “Nope, he just likes the stroller.” Only in New York would someone push their dog around in a stroller because they like it!! I think she was taking him to the pool next to chill out on a lounge chair and have a margarita.

New York, NY - I was watching this bum for a while when I noticed that his sign had suddenly changed. Of course, I needed to know, so I asked and found out that he waits to see how much change he gets with a particular sign. If it’s not working for him, he moves on to the next one. I never realized that bums engage in market testing. Anyway, I’m not sure either of those signs will help his cause…

I woke up and walked to St. Mark’s place to grab a cup of coffee. Along the way, I avoided a urinating homeless man, passed a tranny in a ripped prom dress, and eyed a pair of handcuffs affixed to a tree…no big deal. And then I saw this:

Your eyes tell no lies – it’s a pole dancer being escorted around by a middle-aged biker. The music was blaring and her booty was pumping – she was in full effect pre 8am. I ran to get my coffee and came back to make sure I hadn’t imagined the sight. Nope, they were still there and in great spirits. I pulled out my camera and they waved hello.  The best part? They were not advertising poll dancing class, nor were they asking for money.  They were simply being themselves doing something that would happen only in New York.
